Views have two main purposes. Firstly, you can create Views of a drawing with particular Layers switched on and off. For example, you could create a Print View of a drawing with the Layers you don’t want to see on the printout, such as floors, ceilings and roofs, switched off.

If you set up Views showing selected Layers in the Drawing Templates, these Views will automatically appear in every drawing you create. Secondly, you can create Views of a drawing which capture the current zoom setting, so that you can quickly move between areas of the screen which you view frequently. For example, you might want to set up a closeup zoom of each of the plan views and elevations which make up your drawing.
